The Humanist Society of New Zealand supports the yes vote coalition. This group seeks to get New Zealanders to vote yes in the upcoming referendum concerning punishing children. This coalition aims to keep the current law which protects children from physical harm.

See http://yesvote.org.nz/ and The Humanist Society support on http://yesvote.org.nz/resources/supporters/ .

The current law concerning Section 59 is a compromise that is widely supported by many politicians. The Humanist Society now formally supports this Child Discipline law.
